Joost de Valk is a seasoned online marketer, with his central area of expertise in web development & SEO. He has worked with numerous companies on improving their online presence, and has been speaking on that topic regularly for the last 5 years on all major industry events. His blog yoast.com is what he calls his online home, where’ll you find him sharing a lot of his experiments and learnings.

Joost contributes to several Open Source projects, including: WebKit, the core of browsers like Safari and Chrome, and WordPress. He’s written 20+ plugins for WordPress, which combined have had more than 2.5 million downloads. Lately he’s developed Quix, a powerful browser tool, that was featured on Mashable, Lifehacker, Web Worker Daily and hundreds of other websites.

He has worked with a long list of clients, ranging from large corporates, including eBay, Conrad Electronic and Salesforce.com, to smaller web based ventures. Lastly, Joost co-hosts the weekly WordPress Podcast, discussing ways for bloggers to improve their blogs by interviewing the luminaries of the industry. Recent guests included Pete Cashmore of Mashable and Matt Cutts, head of web spam at Google.
